Ghali, who has always been sensitive to the issue of migrant rescue at sea and a supporter of MEDITERRANEA, with his donation bought "BAYNA", the rescue boat to equip the MARE JONIO. He then launched a fundraiser to invite all the people who follow him to donate to complete the renewal of the safety equipment of the MARE JONIO.

In March 2023, Ghali participated in the training of our rescue team on board the Mare Jonio and christened Bayna, the rescue boat he donated to us and which has since then been used in all the Mare Jonio missions to rescue hundreds of people on the move in the Central Mediterranean.

MEDITERRANEA Saving Humans was created in 2018 by individuals, organisations and associations who chose not to accept the deaths and human rights violations committed every day in the Mediterranean Sea. While European governments hindered and criminalised rescue and solidarity, we joined together to put a ship at sea, witness what happens in the central Mediterranean, denounce rights violations and defend our humanity.
We did this while always respecting the rules of international law. Including those that require, where necessary, rescuing lives.
